Holidays to Japan & South Korea

With an efficient rail network of high-speed bullet trains, it is incredibly easy to get around fabulous Japan, a long and highly volcanic archipelago with four main islands - Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. It is over two thirds mountains, with bubbling hot springs at every turn. Ancient traditions are fused with modern life in cities such as Tokyo and Osaka, whilst the cultural centre of Kyoto is famous for its Buddhist temples, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines, traditional wooden houses, Zen rock gardens, tea ceremonies and graceful geishas, with their distinctive kimonos, hairstyles and make-up.

An essential part of any visit to Japan is to spend a night in a ‘ryokan’ (traditional inn) near Mount Fuji, sleeping on futons and tatami mats, and stripping off to bathe in an ‘onsen’ (hot spring). Seasonal Japanese cuisine is also renowned, from delicate sushi to more hearty mountain dishes. You can view cherry blossoms in late March and early April, travel to Kitakyushu to view its amazing flowering Wisteria Tunnel, visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and so much more.

All our holidays to Japan can be tailor-made to your exact requirements, whether travelling by rail or air. So if you have any special requirements, or need wheelchair accessible accommodation due to limited mobility, just let us know.
